As for sewing, writing, general projects, my life has been a bit hectic recently after the arrival of a new member of my family. Don't worry, it's not a baby, but it may as well be.

I made my Mum's Christmas present this year, which I found out later was a mistake. I used this really fluffy fleece material and was so happy because it was so soft.....never again. A warning to people who are thinking of making a fluffy fleece bathrobe...don't! It slipped and slid like nobody's business, and I'm pretty sure it doesn't actually wrap around fully on my Mum, but we will have to see. Make a blanket...always make a blanket.
I'm also going to Prior Attire's Victorian Ball in Bath this year for the first time, and I've made the chemise, finished with the tartan bias binding I have an infinite amount of. I had a little falling out with the corset I made and ended up ripping it apart and beginning again, and I'm currently working on sewing the channels in the cage skirt. I'm going for 1865 because for those of you who don't know the theme is crinoline. Hopefully I'll have it finished in time.
I am working on two novels that are quite different from each other, and anything else I've ever written, but I'm suffering from lack of inspiration recently, hopefully that will leave with this year's Christmas celebrations.
I don't do New Year's resolutions, mostly because I never keep them, but because if I want to change something about my lifestyle I'll do it any time, not just on the 1st January. I usually have a bucket list of things I wish to accomplish in a year, and last year I ticked off all but two things. I have renewed my list and hopefully this time next year I'll be sitting down and writing that I've completed everything.
It's my first time driving to Glasgow for Christmas, so hopefully no lorries will kill me. Also if I don't make it home there will be no one to "first foot" my parents' door.
I also had this small irritation when writing cards for the people in my office (yes, i did it). I don't like "Happy Christmas". It's Merry, is has always been and should always be Merry. I didn't realise the cards I bought had "Happy". I gritted my teeth as I wrote them. Does anyone else feel this or is it only me who has this irrational anger?
Thank you all again, and have a Happy Hogmanay and a wonderful 2016.
